Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus S.Aleinik meets the Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa

On December 13, 2023 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Sergei Aleinik, met with the Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, Alvin Botes.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Belarusian-South African relations, confirmed the countries' interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation, and outlined further steps to enhance interaction between Belarus and South Africa in a number of areas.

Special attention was paid to the development of trade and economic relations, in particular the possibility of implementing a program of mechanization of agriculture in South Africa. The Belarusian side noted the successful application of advanced agricultural technologies in Africa in order to solve the problem of food security.

The sides also touched upon the issues of cooperation between Belarus and South Africa in international organizations, including the UN, BRICS and other structures.
