Visit of the President of Zimbabwe to Belarus

On 16-18 of January, 2019 H.E. Mr.Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, paid his first ever official visit to the Republic of Belarus.

Within the visit H.E. Mr.E.D. Mnangagwa held negotiations with H.E. Mr.A.Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus. The heads of the states discussed the development of political and trade-economic contacts, promising areas for strengthening bilateral cooperation, primarily in the field of trade and investment, as well as opportunities for implementing joint projects in various fields.

Following the talks, 8 international documents were signed, including the intergovernmental agreement on mutual legal assistance in civil and economic matters and a number of interdepartmental cooperation agreements.

During his visit to Belarus, H.E. Mr.E.D. Mnangagwa also took part in the opening ceremony of the office of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Zimbabwe in the Republic of Belarus A.Zingman and the Belarusian-Zimbabwean business forum.
