Ambassador of Belarus visits Harare

On April 25-28, 2016 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of South Africa and the Republic of Zimbabwe non-resident, Andrei Molchan, payed a working visit to Harare.

During the visit, Ambassador held meetings with the Ministers of Mines and Mining Development, Industry and Commerce, Agriculture, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the top-officials of the District Development Fund of Zimbabwe.

On April 27 A.Molchan was received by the Vice-President of the country, E.Mnangagwa. Both sides noted with satisfaction the progress of implementation of the agreements and arrangements reached during the Vice-President visit to Belarus in August 2015.

During the meetings, the issues of comprehensive development of interstate cooperation were discussed with a mutual priority given to trade and economic dimension.

Within that context the process of realization of the already achieved inter-governmental accords on the large-scale supply of Belarusian machinery and equipment to Zimbabwe, as well as the realization of a number of economic projects in the country were considered at each branch level.

The business part of the visit’s program included meetings with the president of the Chamber of Commerce and representatives of the business community of Zimbabwe.
