Ambassador A.Sidoruk takes part in the international forum «Science Diplomacy Capital for Africa»

On 8 July 2022 Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of South Africa Alexander Sidoruk took part in the international forum «Science Diplomacy Capital for Africa».

The event was held at the initiative of the Department of Science and Innovation, as well as the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research of South Africa. During the forum, the participants exchanged views on the current problems and challenges facing scientific diplomacy, discussed mechanisms for better and more productive interaction both within the continent and with other foreign partners.

As part of the Belarusian-South African agenda, the Ambassador discussed the prospects for holding the next fourth meeting of the Joint Belarusian-South African Commission for Cooperation in Science and Technology in Minsk, as well as the possibility of establishing interaction between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the African Academy of Sciences (a pan-African organization that unites science academies of the countries of the continent).
