Delegation of the Republic of Mozambique visits Minsk

On May 30 — June 5, 2021, the Mozambican delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Mozambique Manuel José Gonçalves paid a working visit to the Republic of Belarus.  
During the visit M.J. Gonçalves took part in the second Belarusian-African Economic Forum, where the possibilities of trade and economic cooperation between the Republic of Mozambique and the Republic of Belarus were presented.

In terms of the Forum the Mozambican delegation saw the expositions presented at the international agricultural exhibition «BelAgro-2021».

Increased attention was paid to agricultural machinery, as well as the production of meat and dairy products, in connection with which the Mozambican delegation additionally visited OJSC «Minsk Tractor Works», OJSC «Ozeritskiy-Agro» and JSC «Agrokombinat «Dzerzhinskiy».

On June 2, the third meeting of the Joint Belarus-Mozambique Commission on Cooperation took place. The Belarusian delegation was headed by the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus Igor Brylo, the Mozambican — by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Mozambique Manuel José Gonçalves.

The parties discussed the current state of trade and economic cooperation, as well as reference points for the further development of bilateral relations in this area.

On June 3, the third round of political consultations took place between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Mozambique. The Belarusian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mikalai Barysevich, the Mozambican Side – by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Manuel José Gonçalves.

During the consultations the Sides discussed topical issues of the bilateral agenda, the current state and prospects for the development of the Belarusian-Mozambican political dialogue, agreed upon the approaches to develop the legal framework of relations between the two countries, and discussed specific ways to intensify trade and economic cooperation.
