Ambassador of Belarus takes part in events with the leadership of South Africa and the Western Cape Province
07.02.2025On February 6, 2025 H.E. Igor Bely, Ambassador of Belarus to South Africa, took part in a joint session of both houses of the South African Parliament in Cape Town.
In the 2025 State of the Nation Address H.E. Cyril Ramaphosa, President of the Republic of South Africa, highlighted the current priorities of the South African Government for the current year. Among them are: the National Dialogue, ensuring country’s economic growth, combating unemployment and poverty.
On February 7, 2025 the Ambassador of Belarus met with the leadership of the Western Cape Province and its capital, the city of Cape Town.
He discussed with Alan Winde, Premier of Western Cape, the establishment of direct ties with one of the Belarusian regions, as well as the implementation of specific economic projects within the framework of inter-regional cooperation.
Ambassador and Geordin Gwyn Hill-Lewis, Mayor of Cape Town, outlined plans to establish ties with one of the counterpart city in Belarus. They also discussed the exchange of experience on municipal management and provision of urban services to the citizens, as well as projects in the field of setting up a safe urban environment, and allowing residents access to clean water and sewage facilities.
